GeoMet, Inc. Announces Pricing Of initial Public Offering and Effectiveness of Resale Registration Statement. Shares Will Begin Trading On The NASDAQ Under The Symbol 'GMET'.

Houston, July 27, 2006 - GeoMet, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMET) (“GeoMet” or the “Company”) today announced the pricing of its initial public offering of 5,000,000 shares of common stock at a price of $10.00 per share. The Company has granted the underwriters in the offering the right to purchase up to an additional 750,000 shares at the initial public offering price to cover over-allotments, if any. Banc of America Securities LLC acted as the sole book-runner and lead manager with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc and Raymond James & Associates, Inc. acting as co-managers.

This offering is being made only by means of a final prospectus, copies of which may be obtained from the office of Banc of America Securities LLC, 9 West 57th Street, New York, NY10019. A registration statement relating to these securities has been declared effective by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
