GeoMet, Inc. is an independent energy company primarily engaged in the exploration for and the development and production of natural gas from coal seams (coalbed methane or CBM) and non-conventional shallow gas. Our principal operations and producing properties are located in Alabama and the Central Appalachian Basin. We also control additional coalbed methane and oil and gas development rights, principally in Alabama, British Columbia, Virginia and West Virginia.

We pursue those projects with large, high impact resource potential that leverage our substantial CBM expertise. We have a history of developing large scale projects with low finding and development costs and low project life operating costs. Our Technical staff has developed 5 large scale CBM projects in four separate basins in the United States (Black Warrior, Raton, Central Appalachia, and Cahaba basins.)
